“Young. Rich. Beautiful”

Uncategorized

This editorial film showcases beautiful textures and fashion for a young socialite.  I drew inspiration from vintage Grace Coddington photographs, Queen Nefertiti drawings, and Kate Moss circa 1990.  Glossy, wet textures meet dry, matte intentional frizz.  Pops of neon colors contrast against Murphy’s alabaster skin.  Fashion photographer, Samantha Collie, attributed diffused lighting along with a beautiful contract of color, composition, and shadow.  Fashions from Alexander McQueen and vintage pieces added beautiful flair. Enjoy!

Charles James- Beyond Fashion MET Gala 2014

Uncategorized

This year’s MET Gala celebrated a grand couturier, Charles James, who constructed voluminous and glamorous gowns for the fashion icons of the time.

Of course, with beautiful fashion, you need perfect hair and makeup. Here’s a look at my favorites:

image

Anna Kendricks wore clean side-part with a bit of lift at the crown paired with a feline flick eyeliner and dusty rose pink lip.

image

This loose, textured side braid paired with bronzed eyes, apricot cheeks and lips gave Emma Stone a polished bohemian feel.

image

Chloë Moretz balanced a dramatic smokey eye with natural nude pinks for her lips and cheeks along with loose waves gathered in a half-up, half-down style.

image

Glossy, side parted cascading barrel waves framed Blake Lively’s face. A wispy thick lash paired with a brighter pink made the look pop.

image

Rita Ora channeled flapper and gamine with this slick deep side part do. She wore gold leaf in the parting add flair and interest. A beautiful full lash and sculpted cherry red lip completed the look.

image

You need a sweetheart look to match a sweetheart neckline. Reese Witherspoon wore a glossy faux bob pinned securely out of the face with with a matching bright pink to complete the look.

image

Serious height at the crown gave Selena Gomez interest for a style that was worn completely off the face. Winged liner, full thick eyelashes and a raspberry lip complemented the jewelry and gown.

image

A beautiful risk was taken by Joan Smalls with this beautiful magnetic eggplant violet lipstick. A side fishtail braid softened the look.

An effortless windswept updo matched well with Suki Waterhouse’s deep toned makeup complete with a ruby lip and bronzey smoke eye.

There were many beautiful gowns, lights, and glamour. Check out the full red carpet online by typing “MET Gala 2014”

“High Contrast” Living Magazine May 2014

Uncategorized

This editorial showcases the beautiful fashion trend in monochromatic black and white and how to wear it. Follow my journey on how I created this look.

The look was inspired by the “mop top” trend seen on Spring/Summer 2014 runways such as Marc Jacobs and Chanel.  The look is distressed, textural and chic all in one.

image

I used a human hair wig in shade 613 which I them hand colored to achieve an icy Nordic blond.  I used Paul Mitchell UTP and UTA with 10 volume developer.

I then cut the triangular bob shape with clippers and a razor.
